Reducing waste during move-out
Published: April 27, 2016
As another academic year comes to a close, MSU's Division of Residential and Hospitality Services reminds students to recycle and donate unwanted items through Pack Up. Pitch In. Help Out., a program designed to promote environmental consciousness during spring semester move-out.
The end-of-semester recycling campaign begins April 20 and runs until May 10 in residence halls, and through May 23 in Spartan Village and University Village Apartments.
The program accepts plastics, metal, white paper, mixed paper, boxboard, newspaper, glass, wood and carpet. Items collected for donation include clothing, shoes, food, books, bikes, metal futons, household appliances, furniture and e-waste (including all items with batteries or cords). Donated items will be submitted to charitable organizations in the local community.
Student collaboration across campus is critical to reducing waste during move-out. Remember to do your part and help MSU keep material out of the landfill.
