Every day, Spartans are taking action to make an impact on campus and around the globe. Our collective actions are transforming campus facilities and operations to conserve energy, reduce waste and maintain the campus ecosystem. Each and every member of the campus community can make a difference through small adoptions of more sustainable practices.

Under a new directive from the office of the Executive Vice President for Administrative Services, the Sustainability department has been tasked with addressing sustainability at MSU from a new angle. We will be focusing on direct outreach to specific campus units, colleges and departments, and will no longer be facilitating campus-wide programming. As of August 1, 2017, we will be closing the following programs: Be Spartan Green Student Project Fund, Spartan Ecoreps, Spartan Green Certification, and Green Event Certification. Please consult each program page for further information about our vision for keeping sustainability thriving at MSU.

While we recognize that these programs help encourage sustainability participation on campus, we are realigning our efforts to work more effectively and efficiently, better contributing to sustainability for the university. We will continue to serve as a resource for your questions and interests, and welcome the opportunity to help your team enhance sustainability in your space. Please contact the Sustainability department if you have questions about programming or about implementing sustainable practices in your unit.
